I've been wearing station boots for work for many years now, and am constantly searching for a less expensive, more durable option. The last pair I wore out was Thorogood, which I liked, but which only lasted a year. Blundstones are a bit more durable, but more expensive as well. The best I've had are Australian brands that are not available in the US. My work ranges from shop use (cabinetmaking), to welding, to heavy demolition.Anyway, these Avengers seem to be pretty nice. They look great, with a slightly lower profile toe than the steel toed ones I've had. They are also shockingly lightweight. I hope that doesn't mean they'll only last a few months. They have a decent, dense footbed, and seem pretty comfy from the little I've worn them.Sizing is about 1/2-1 size smaller than Thorogood or Blundstone. I wear an 11 in those, and went with an 11.5 in the Avengers, which still feels a little smaller.I will update this review when they wear out, which I hope will be a long time from now.Update 1: I've been using them as my primary boots for a couple of months now and they are wearing well. I did cover the toe with KG boot guard, as I do all of my boots. Working on one's knees doing baseboard or whatever will trash the tops of the toes way faster than the soles, and the KG stuff eliminates that concern. I love how light they are! I'm upgrading them to 5* based on their comfort, apparent durability, and high value (compared with other options). It still seems like this style of boot should be available for less, but such is life.
